Today, Kiran Kumar, renowned orthopedic surgeon and South India-based Krushi Orthopaedi Welfare Society (KOWS) announced that the society had created the “First Convenience Physio Wheel Chairâ€.
Dr.Kumar said that the society developed the wheel-chair keeping in mind the needs of physically challenged people, who were suffering from arthritis, paralysis and fractures.
According to Dr.Kumar, Sramajeevi Charitable Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in Vishakhapatnam had prvided assistance to the physically challenged people with the help of Vishakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA).
The bone surgeon also said that the society also helped to create awareness on the importance of maintaining health and also stressed on disaster management.
The ‘First Convenience Physio Wheelchair’ can prove to be useful to patients while undergoing physiotherapy treatment. Due to the positive response received, KOWSA also has future plans of developing a tricycle to facilitate the process for patients.
Dr.Kumar said that KOWS is looking for sponsors to distribute the wheelchairs for a price of Rs.4500 each.
