A few days ago, we had reported about research being done on capsaicin for the development of a painkiller which they hope to be effective.
Now in the latest development, US researchers have successfully developed a general anesthesia that reduces pain without loss of body sensation and consciousness.
According to the report, scientists from the General Hospital of Massachusetts injected in rodents a combination of two drugs- lidocain and capsaicin-in an area near the sciatic nerves.
The animals did not feel any pain and kept moving naturally without losing any bodily sensation. The sedation effect lasted two hours.
Although studies have not concluded yet, experts are convinced that anesthetic preparation may be effective in some pre-operative surgeries and natural births.
