Living in a city surely does take a lot out of its residents with regards to health. Proper health care and maintenance of well being is certainly essential in times like ours. It is for this reason that The Times Group organizes an event each year to showcase the latest in this field. Called the Times Health & Beauty Show 2007, this year’s event was up to the mark with a number of cutting-edge technologies showcased.
The Times Health & Beauty Show 2007 began on November 23 and runs till November 25, 2007 at the World Trade Centre in Cuffe Parade, Mumbai, India.
The event comprised numerous seminars which proved to be very helpful to those who attended. Topics such as Body Building, Prevention of Heart Disease, Foods that Heal and Anjali Mukerjee’s Health Total were just some of the talks that took place.
It’s a known fact that beauty is not just skin deep because a healthy body and mind makes one beautiful in the real sense of the word. So it’s not just at the physical level that one has to look after them selves. Spiritual nurturing of one’s own mind as well as relationships with others plays an equal role in building up your wellness factor.
Seminars at the Times event also covered the spiritual side of things with lectures on Rudraksha Therapy by Rudralife and Alpha Thinking by Sachin Laghate.
Besides these seminars, The Times Health & Beauty Show 2007 also housed numerous stalls that showcased various products and treatments that are beneficial to one’s health.
Diabetics will benefit from the new and highly convenient monitoring systems now available in India. One such company present was Prestige IQ, which offered live demonstrations of its Blood Glucose Monitoring System. The kit comprises several small strips for testing one’s blood, a Glucose control solution to check the accuracy of the strips and a Blood Glucose Lancet that has been designed for painless skin penetration. The test is accurate and painless and the results are instant.
Yet another company showcasing a similar device was Contour TS, a Bayer HealthCare company. This device similar to the one mentioned above is also really reliable and a great choice for diabetics.
A number of stalls displayed herbal products, which India has been come to be known for. Also on display were health foods by a company called Good Earth. The Good Earth muesli bars can be the perfect alternative to a large breakfast as it will provide you not only with nutrition but the much-needed energy to get through long days.
Diabetic Retinopathy is a disease that had absolutely no curative treatment until now. It is basically a complication of Diabetes, which affects the Retina of the eye and in some patients the blood vessels of the Retina gets damages due to which the retina does not receive enough amounts of oxygen and glucose.
However, I came across a stall that was offering a treatment for Diabetic Retinotherapy claiming it to be the world’s first treatment for this complication and that too an Ayurvedic one. Experts at Sanjeevan Ayurvedic Superspeciality Clinic & Research Center together with experienced ophthalmologists have developed a treatment which clears out the leaked blood in the retina and vitreous areas of the eye within a period of 2 to 8 weeks. We will be bringing you an exclusive feature on this revolutionary Ayurvedic treatment soon.
For heart patients as well as for those who believe that prevention is better than cure, the IPC Heart Care Center assists you in healing your heart and that too in a natural way. This chain of preventive and non-surgical cardiac clinics happens to be the largest in India. Known as Enhanced External Counter Pulsation, this treatment uses equipment exported from the US and is completely non-surgical and non-pharmaceutical as well.
For those who like to relax after a long day’s work, the Relax line of products will certainly do wonders. Showcased in their stall was the Nirvana II massage chair along with several other models. The company also showcased massage devices for the calves, ankles, heels and soles of the feet. Very, very relaxing and effective at it too!
Johari Digital Health Care showcased a somewhat large device called The Fitness Factory which claims to melt away those inches, tone and firm muscles, increase blood flow, tone skin and accelerate metabolic rate. This device comes in several models depending on your needs.
Rudralife had a huge stall which housed people who were available for consultation. Once again, depending on your needs, you will be provided with the right Rudraksh bead to protect, enhance and assist you in your personal or professional life.
Other stalls at the event offered complete herbal products for good health and crystal and Vaastu readings as well. Planet M had also set up shop to display its latest line of Fitness clothing. And, the famous Forever Living products were also available for purchase.
Saving the best for last, I would like to go into detail with the Aura Scan that I actually underwent at this event. Holistic Studio, a company located in Marine Lines provides those who wish to know more about themselves with an aura reading.
For the uninitiated, an aura is the electro-magnetic field that constantly surrounds you and is made up of your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Your aura vibrates at a particular frequency and something really fascinating to know is that each person’s aura is as unique as their finger print!
The aura scan involved me placing my left hand on a thermal and static reading device which was hooked up to a computer. After this, I was provided with a 23 page personalized report which according to me turned out to be so true! Turns out that I am a creative person with artistic abilities with a high level of excitement. It’s quite amazing and I totally recommend anyone to try this out as it can identify potential health issues. The people who handle this and take your reading are really wonderful as well.
All in all, the Times Health & Beauty Show 2007 turned out to be a great event. Tomorrow is the last day, so do head there to get a glimpse of the cutting-edge health-related technologies that are available in India today.
