Bronchial Mudra

Air is the vital force of life. We breathe in air and we exhale it out. When we breathe in sufficient amount or air it gives us oxygen which helps to give life and good functioning of body cells. Vice versa insufficient oxygen will hamper normal functioning of cells and thereby affect one’s hormones.

This insufficient supply of oxygen leads to mood swings, depression, sleeplessness, inferiority complex, sexual problems, isolation, sadness and failure all over in life thereby surrounding the person with a negative aura.

To cope with this, we can use the bronchial mudra. This mudra not only regulates oxygen intake but is also useful in acute attacks of bronchial asthma (and not cardiac asthma).

Technique:

Place the little finger at the base of the thumb, the ring finger on the upper thumb joint, and the middle finger on the pad of the thumb. Extend the index finger.

During an acute attack of asthma before patient is taken to hospital for nebulization with deriphyline and dexamethasone, one can make the patient to perform this mudra which helps in dilatation of the bronchial tube thereby naturally combating an attack of asthma. This could prove to be life saving.
