Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) is a set of dietary changes given by the National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute, America. Following these will help lower blood pressure naturally –
– Have a diet low in saturated fat, total fat and cholesterol.
– Have more of low – fat dairy foods, fruits and vegetables. Fruits like bananas, oranges, guavas which are high on potassium and help lower blood pressure.
– Focus on whole grain food products instead of those containing refined flour.
– Have plenty of fish, nuts, and poultry but limit your meat, sugar and sweet intake. This shall provide you with essential potassium, calcium, magnesium and zinc in your diet. It shall also give plenty of fibre and proteins to beat the blood pressure.
– Cut down on oily and fried foods.
