7Wash your hair the right way –

Washing your hair at least twice a week is advisable. If your routine exposes you to dusty and hot conditions or if you work out daily, it is important to wash your hair every day. This is because dirt accumulated on a sweaty scalp can attract and bind pollutants to it, damaging the hair. But do not use a shampoo for every wash unless you have an excessively oily scalp.

Your scalp may react to harsh or drying shampoos by going into sebum production overdrive. Plain lukewarm or cold water can be used for washing. Also avoid vigorous rubbing of the scalp and hair while washing. Gently massaging your scalp without digging in your fingernails is the best way to do it.

When using shampoo, always follow the golden rules of washing your hair right. Soak it thoroughly and make sure your scalp is properly wet too. Apply no more than a coin-sized amount of shampoo to your scalp if you have shoulder-length hair. Rinse and repeat if necessary. Conditioner should only go on your hair.

Make sure you wash it out of your hair properly. Never comb your hair while it’s wet since this encourages breakage. Also, don’t blow-dry or iron unless absolutely necessary. Additionally, the various heat-protection serums you need to use before doing so can accumulate on your scalp and hair, damaging them greatly.
