9Vegetables –

Put vegetables high on your roster of top foods for lowering cholesterol not because they’re better than every other candidate on this list, but due to the fact that they must make up the biggest portion of every meal you eat. They’re great for preparing a salad when you’re hungry for a guilt-free snack. When seasoned and cooked right, they’re a smart way to stay healthy and still feel full.

Not all veggies are best eaten raw. The nutrients from cooked tomatoes, carrots, kale and spinach are assimilated by our systems more easily. Eggplant, okra, cabbage, asparagus, cucumber, zucchini, cauliflower and brightly colored vegetables are your friends. Onions are awesome too in raw or cooked form. They also aid in lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of colon and stomach cancer.
